Livestreaming Guide

This guide contains instructions on how to properly start the A/V system and configure it to livestream a Sunday morning service.

Startup order of Operations

To power up the A/V system and get everything ready,

  1. Power up the stage rack
    More details
The stage rack contains the SQ-5's digital snake, the AR2412, which connects to the subwoofer located next to it, as well as instrument inputs for the band (The handheld mics are connected to the SQ-5 directly). It doesn't necessarily need to be powered up first, but it's not a bad idea and keeps a nice order of starting up edge devices and moving closer and closer to the center of all the equipment with each step.
  2. Power up the booth rack
    More details
The booth rack contains the 5 handheld mic recievers (The sixth is on the wrong frequency and left over from the old Audio Technica bodypack that was replaced by the Sennheiser one), the Listen Technologies assistive listening transmitter, and the DriveRack PA2. It also contains (though not inside of it) the SQ-5 mixer and Sennheiser bodypack reciever.
  3. Power on the streaming PC
    More details
The streaming PC should be powered on last so that OBS grabs the inputs properly. Manual intervention is required to unfreeze sources in OBS if it's turned on prior to the Atem and SQ-5 being powered on. If it is powered on before the booth rack, the fix can be found here.

With the system started, set the Atem Mini Pro's transition to auto by pressing the large button on the Atem labeled auto.

Then configure the livestream in YouTube by clicking on the bookmark in Firefox on the streaming PC and then clicking add new stream, or schedule stream, then update any information like the date and schedule it for 10 AM on Sunday.

Running The Service

After starting and configuring everything comes running the actual service. To do so requires the livestream to begin. To start, make sure the scene in OBS is set to the prestream, then press the "Start Streaming" and "Start Recording" buttons in OBS on the right hand lower corner. Then a few seconds before the Prelude or first activity of the service, switch the scene to "stream" and the livestream has truly begun.
