Audio

The audio portion of the Sanctuary's A/V system is built around an Allen & Heath SQ-5 mixer (as of 5/2023). The mixer is located in the sound booth, with it's network snake, an AR2412, being located in the rack on the stage.

The Sanctuary building has 24 XLR jacks mounted in the stage floor in groups of four. These are referred to as floor ports, and are used for the lectern, choir, and piano mics, as well as monitors occasionally. The cables directly to the floor ports terminate in the old sound booth on the west side of the balcony, where they connect to a snake which carries them the rest of the way to the sound booth.

Floor ports in use connect to the rear of the SQ-5, and the rest just hang out in the cabinet area for the rack.

The wireless handheld microphones are Audiotechnica ATW 3212/C710 units, and run on 2 AA batteries. The recievers are located in the sound booth sound rack, and are powered by and receive signals from 2 Distro4 units which connect to a single antenna on the side of the pillar in the center of the balcony.

A 6th wireless handheld (Orange mic) can be found in the fellowship hall in the table closet attached to the main hall.

The pastor's bodypack is a Sennheiser EW-D unit with a custom made adapter to adapt from Sennheiser's 3.5mm locking connector to one of Audio-Technica's many proprietary connections. The pack was originally an Audio Technica unit from the same lineup as the handhelds, but constant interference and dropouts led to it being upgraded.

The EW-D is digital and uses 2 frequencies for redundancy to minimize interference and dropouts, and has thus far worked quite well.
