SABTS.Cloud

Overview​

SABTS.Cloud is designed to provide extremely cheap "cloud" storage, allow it to be accessed from anywhere, and keep it safe and private. Currently it's configured to provide users with 150GB of storage, though that can be increased as necessary, though the server only has 1TB of total storage currently.

Data Protection and Privacy​

Protection​

SABTS.Cloud has been setup with 2 redundant SSDs configured in a Raid 1. In simpler terms, it stores all data in two copies on two seperate storage drives so that if one drive fails, no data is lost.
In addition to the redundant drives, it backs up the entire Nextcloud server and all the data to Backblaze once a week.

Privacy​

Data security is a high priority and data uploaded to SABTS.Cloud is private and secure. While all data is backed up to Backblaze, an external service, backups are encrypted and secure. Nextcloud is also updated regularly to get all the security patches as they come out.

Administrator Access​

While SABTS.Cloud takes every precaution to prevent unauthorized access to your data, it's important to acknowledge that administrators of the system have the ability to access user data under specific circumstances. This access is highly restricted and only exercised when absolutely necessary. We respect your privacy and will not access your data without a valid reason, such as addressing technical issues.

Nextcloud​

SABTS.Cloud is a customized Nextcloud server, running as a Docker container in a Compose stack with additional support services in an LXC on the OVERSEER server.

Longterm Support​

I, Alton Bredthauer, have no intention to stop supporting SABTS.Cloud or SABTS Docs anytime soon, even if I leave my position as Multimedia Coordinator. Unfortunately, these services and the OVERSEER server, while they don't need maintenence or human intervention often, are complicated and very challenging to maintain without experience in Linux, Docker containers, Proxmox, and so much more. With that in mind, if I am no longer able to maintain any services, I will assist in finding an alternative or in the training on how to maintain these services.
